Malvern East Physiotherapy offers Clinical Pilates which focuses on an individual, goal-orientated approach. Whether pilates forms part of your fitness regime, injury prevention or rehabilitation; we will provide you with your own specialised program administered at the highest standard by our physiotherapists. Our extensive program includes our unique Manlates and adolescent strength and core program.
Clinical Pilates is designed to increase muscle strength and flexibility in order to correct muscle imbalances, restore alignment, while also helping to improve posture. Joints are stabilised by the smaller, deeper muscles that sit closest to them. These muscles are often weakened by lifestyle factors such as sitting for prolonged periods, or leaning over computers. This can result in muscle imbalances between the deep and superficial muscles, which can lead to further problems. Clinical Pilates works to strengthen these muscles, which in return improves posture and helps to prevent further injuries.
Benefits of Clinical Pilates include:
- Improved general physical wellbeing
- Improved posture and balance
- Development of core stability
- Increased flexibility and muscle tone
- Rehabilitation following surgery or fractures
- Safe and effective rehabilitation of injuries including disc bulges and neck pain
- Safe and effective injury management to treat the underlying cause of injury
- Prevention of future injury
How do I get started with Pilates at Malvern East Physiotherapy?
At Malvern East Physiotherapy, you will undergo an initial assessment with your physiotherapist who will work with you to develop an exercise program tailored specifically to meet your goals, abilities and needs. Clinical Pilates involves the use of spring-loaded resistance equipment including the Reformer and Trapeze Table. An effective and safe program will be developed and our clinic offers a range of small group classes or one-on-one appointments.
Following your assessment, an individualised and specific program will be tailored to your goals and needs. Whether you are doing pilates for rehabilitation or fitness, our physiotherapists will develop a pilates program whilst being mindful of your holistic exercise goals. Our team can guide you through a range of pilates exercises ranging from improving symptoms through to maintaining peak physical fitness fitness.
