At Malvern East Physiotherapy, our physiotherapist-run group strength training classes cater for those who want to improve and maintain their strength and fitness. Our physiotherapists can also use strength training as an adjunct to other treatment for recovery from injury or post-operatively. Our class sizes are limited in order to ensure personal attention at all times. There is no pre-requisite of previous gym or strength training experience. A thorough individual assessment is conducted prior to any exercise program in order to ensure that you are provided with a safe, effective and individualised strength program.
Extensive research suggests that strength training is beneficial for overall health and wellbeing. There are broad ranges of exercises that can be undertaken, and no matter what level of fitness or function you are at, our physiotherapists can tailor an individual and safe program.

At Malvern East Physiotherapy, our strength training uses a variety of equipment including weights, medicine balls and resistance bands. Both the upper and lower limbs benefit from resistance exercises and are often incorporated as part of any strength program or session.
